In 2027, T/S Saeftinghe will set course for Svalbard again. We plan to arrive in the archipelago from 1 May onwards. Not for a short passage, but for four full months.

Svalbard requires preparation. It is a place where weather, ice, regulations and safety help determine what is possible. That is exactly what makes it interesting. We leave with plans, but we keep room to work with the conditions as they come.

Sail And Ski

From May, we start with Sail & Ski. These weeks are organised together with our partner Backyard Svalbard. They know the area, the mountains and the local context. Saeftinghe becomes the base on the water. From there, we look at what is possible day by day, together with the guide.

Exclusive Adventure

In June, several groups will already come on board for an Exclusive Adventure in Svalbard. Our Exclusive Adventure periods for Svalbard 2027 are almost fully booked, but groups with interest are still welcome to contact us. Sometimes space becomes available, and sometimes we can think along about another period or a future season.

A group can be an organisation, company, partner or private group that wants to develop its own sailing trip or expedition with Saeftinghe. We look together at what you want to do, what fits the group and what is possible in Svalbard.

Shore activities are guided by certified guides. These can be provided by our partner Backyard Svalbard, or by the group itself if they work with a certified Svalbard guide.

Groups that are interested can submit a request through this page!

Inspire

For individual participants, we mainly plan sailing trips in July. These sailing trips and expeditions are for people who want to take an active part on board and experience Svalbard up close. You do not need to be an experienced sailor, but you do need to be willing to take part in life on board. Sailing, anchoring, going ashore, eating together, making plans and sometimes simply waiting for the right moment: it is all part of it.

We are still working out the exact details of the individual trips. By pre-registering, you get the opportunity to book several weeks earlier, before the trips go online for the general public. This matters, because the number of places on board is limited and some trips may already be fully booked before they officially appear on the website.

Do you want to join Saeftinghe as an individual participant in Svalbard in 2027?

Then register your interest through the pre-registration.
