For once, Saeftinghe goes ashore.

Once a year, we bring the spirit of Saeftinghe a little closer to home.

No deck beneath our feet. No watch to keep. No horizon passing by. Instead, we gather in the woods, around the fire, with people who have already shared an adventure with us and those who may still be dreaming of their first one.

On 12 December 2026, we meet again.

To reconnect. To share stories. To dream about what lies beyond the horizon. And to discover where Saeftinghe might take us next.

Looking back together. Dreaming together. Looking ahead together.

A winter evening. Saeftinghe style.

Bonfires. Stories. Food. Music. Adventure.

And plenty of time to catch up.

16:00 — WARM UP

  • Warm Welcome

    • Arrive, grab a drink and meet familiar — and new — faces.

  • Winter Hike

    • Put on your walking boots and join us for a winter walk through the woods.

  • Bonfire, Bites & Drinks

    • Back around the fire for something warm, something tasty and plenty of stories.

18:00 — LOOK AHEAD

  • Where will Saeftinghe take you?

    • Norway, Svalbard, Iceland, and the miles in between.
    • Discover the adventures waiting for Saeftinghe in the season ahead — and perhaps find the one that has your name on it.

18:30 — STORIES FROM THE NORTH

  • A guide's perspective

    • What does exploring the Arctic on a small sailing vessel really mean?
    • Stories from the North, told from a guide's perspective, followed by our Captain & Guide's Table.
    • No stage. No formalities.
  • Bring your questions.

19:30 — STAY A LITTLE LONGER

The evening doesn't end here.

  • More bonfires. Music. A drink. Old stories and new plans.
  • Catch up with former shipmates, meet future ones or simply stay around the fire for another while.

Some "Out Of The Ordinary" adventures start exactly like this.

  • Dress code?

    • There isn't one, but dress for the outdoors. Bring a warm jacket or fleece and, if you're joining the winter hike, don't forget your walking shoes.
    • We provide shelter if the Belgian winter decides to join us, and the bonfires will keep things warm and cosy.
