Sail north along the Norwegian coast on a one-week delivery voyage from Ålesund to Trondheim. Islands and open stretches of sea shape the route as you become part of life aboard Saeftinghe. This is no fixed trip, but a real voyage where wind, weather and sea conditions determine each day.

Embarkation

T/S Saeftinghe will be in Ålesund, Norway. Embarkation is scheduled on Saturday 19 September 2026 from 17:00 onwards.

Our Program

From Ålesund, we sail north towards Trondheim during a varied week along the Norwegian coast. Depending on the conditions, we navigate between islands and through sheltered coastal waters, alternating these with more open stretches at sea.

As this is a delivery voyage, the main focus is on sailing and making progress towards Trondheim. You become part of the rhythm aboard, help sail the ship and experience how the route and daily programme evolve with the wind and weather.

If time and circumstances allow, there may be an opportunity to visit a place along the way or go ashore for a walk. This depends on our progress, weather, sea conditions and the final route, and can therefore not be guaranteed.

Disembarkation

The voyage ends in Trondheim, Norway, on Saturday morning, 26 September 2026, after breakfast.

This trip is in full board

Participants are required to bring their own bedding and towels: pillowcase, single duvet cover (or sleeping bag), fitted sheet and towel!

  • Accommodation on board based on 2 persons per room. A room consists of 2 single beds (bunk beds) with shared washroom.
  • Breakfast, Light lunch, Dinner
  • Water, coffee and tea à volonté
  • Performance captain and one crew member
  • Use of safety equipment
  • Use of the ship for the purposes described in the programme (mooring fees, fuel costs, maintenance, insurance,...)

For whom is this trip suitable?

With our voyages, we aim to introduce beginners to sailing and the ocean on the one hand, and experienced sailors who want to do something different on the other. But of course, not every trip is the same... That's why we distinguish between heaviness and effort. That way you have an idea of what you can, should and should expect.

This trip has 2 icebergs.

A true sailing adventure with an added sense of challenge. Depending on the route and weather conditions, these voyages may include an occasional night at sea. Greater flexibility and perseverance are sometimes required, but the rewards are equally greater. This level is ideal for those looking to experience longer passages and take their first step into more adventurous sailing without entering expedition territory.
