Delivery: Sailing from Iceland to the Netherlands via the Faroe Islands
Sail from Höfn in Iceland to Harlingen in the Netherlands on a genuine offshore passage across the North Atlantic. Leaving Iceland behind, we set course southeast and spend several days at sea, guided by the wind, waves and changing weather systems.
This voyage is made for real sailing enthusiasts who enjoy covering nautical miles and actively participating in life aboard. We sail day and night, work in a watch system and share responsibility for navigation, sail handling and the daily routine at sea.
If the weather and our progress allow, we may interrupt the crossing with a stop in the Faroe Islands, Shetland or Orkney. These islands are not fixed destinations: the conditions on the North Atlantic ultimately determine our course.
A demanding and rewarding milebuilder for those who want to experience offshore sailing as it really is: keeping watch, working together and crossing the North Atlantic under sail.

Our programme during this trip
Embarkation
T/S Saeftinghe will be ready for you in Höfn, on Iceland’s southeastern coast. Embarkation is scheduled on 12/09/2027 from 17:00 onwards.
After settling in aboard, we introduce you to the ship, the crew and the safety procedures for the voyage ahead. We discuss the expected weather, the watch system and the possible routes towards Harlingen. Together, we prepare Saeftinghe for an extended offshore passage.
Our Program
After leaving Höfn, we set course across the North Atlantic towards Harlingen. We sail day and night in a watch system, with everyone actively participating in navigation, sail handling and life aboard.
Our exact route depends on the wind, waves and weather. If conditions and timing allow, we may stop in the Faroe Islands, Shetland or Orkney. This is a true milebuilder for sailors who want to stand watches, work as a team and experience a genuine offshore crossing.
Disembarkation
The voyage ends in Harlingen on 3/10/2027, the Netherlands, after breakfast.
This trip is in full board
Participants are required to bring their own bedding and towels: pillowcase, single duvet cover (or sleeping bag), fitted sheet and towel!

- Accommodation on board based on 2 persons per room. A room consists of 2 single beds (bunk beds) with shared washroom.

For whom is this trip suitable?
With our voyages, we aim to introduce beginners to sailing and the ocean on the one hand, and experienced sailors who want to do something different on the other. But of course, not every trip is the same... That's why we distinguish between heaviness and effort. That way you have an idea of what you can, should and should expect.

These voyages are defined by longer crossings, which may range from two days to several weeks at sea. Routes often lead into remote regions where weather, sea state and conditions can become demanding, and where assistance may be further away than in more populated sailing areas. Participants should be prepared for a more intensive experience and a higher degree of self-reliance. This is the level where sailing becomes a true expedition and where the journey itself is the destination.
